April 2008 Running Skirts in Action

Surf City USA Half Marathon, Huntington Beach, CA
Half Marathon - This was my first race after having my daughter last spring.  I neglected to train for the half marathon (logged in just 15 miles over 2 months TOTAL for preparation), but signed up with friends months before so could not back out when the date eventually arrived.  After meeting Cindy & Christy & purchasing my first Running Skirt (Black/Black) at the Expo, I was so motivated to do my best - despite the crazy winter rain storm that battered us the entire race!  I saw Cindy & Christy twice during the race - they were way ahead of me! - but seeing them looking so strong and so beautiful in their skirts pushed me.  During and after 13.1 miles of running in wind and rain I felt so comfortable in my brand new running skirt with no chafing or rubbing.  Now that's a true test of breaking in quality running apparel!
Meeting Cindy and her son at the Expo was such a joy.  I had my 9 1/2 month old daughter with me and also picked up "Go Mommy Go!" and "My Mommy Runs Faster Than Your Mommy" onesies.  I bought "My Mommy Runs Faster..." in size 24 months as a training motivator for future races.  In order for it to be a true statement, Mama's got to get back in shape! ;)  You guys are such an inspiration to me as a working mom and runner.  Can't wait to wear a Maternity Skirt during my next pregnancy.
Thank you Cindy & Christy for selling such wonderful running apparel.  I wore my running skirt for the very first time when I ran the Carlsbad 5K in March and I couldn't believe how comfortable it was, I thought I was just getting it for the cuteness factor!  I love it so much I just bought a second one.

Here is a picture of me at the finish line of the Carlsbad 5K showing off my running skirt :o)

Comments about your runningskirt gear?  This was my first race and I absolutely loved having my runningskirt there with me!  Even when I warmed up enough to peel off my long sleeves, my skirt kept me cool enough to sprint up that last hill!

Attached is a picture of me running the Pike's Peek 10K in Rockville, MD. My time this year was 9 minutes faster than the previous year! Must be the skirt :)

It was perfect! My first marathon, I think I'll always wear your skirts!

I recently completed the Melbourne Oxfam 100km Trailwalker, which is a hugely worthwhile event that raises funds for Oxfam. During our training sessions I only ever wore my running or athletic skirts.I didn't even consider wearing anything else as nothing else would have
been comfortable enough, especially as most of the training sessions were done in very warm conditions.  Luckily I have now bought enough of your skirts that I was able to wear a different one for most of my training sessions. Our team completed the event in 20hours 49 minutes. Thank you for these wonderful skirts.  You have such a great range of colours that I never have a problem choosing a new one.
I've attached a few photos for you.

We were battling it out right to the finish line in the Carlsbad 5000.

Thanks for making such a cute and comfortable running skirt.  I had so much fun in my skirt and ran my PR too!

I think these two attached photos should be titled "Skirt vs. Skirt"

Thanks again and I can't wait to see the new colors in May.

Check out the link below to see a picture of me and my doggie during the race yesterday!

Comments about your runningskirt gear? I wore my black/aqua running skirt for the Cirque 5K and it was so comfortable. I really like your skirts and definitely want to add more in other colors to my running gear wardrobe.

Hi Cindy or Christy,

I'm sending in my picture from the Carlsbad 5000. I was so happy to meet you (I'm still not sure which one of you I did meet). I LOVE running in skirts now. I've noticed so many others are making them (including Nike), but still like your the best.

Looking forward to the new pink camo skirts.

Thanks again for the tank shirt. What a treat.

I've attached a picture of me and a friend from the Carlsbad 5000.  I wore my new Navy Athletic Skirt and had an awesome run!  I kept cool and comfortable and felt cute even though I was all sweaty.  I saw a few other ladies in running skirts and even saw you running by in the red mini dot skirt, everyone looked awesome.  My time wasn't great but I did better than I thought I would considering I didn't do any training prior to the run.  I had such a positive experience so I'm now motivated to get back into running.  Can't wait for the next race!!

This is my girls and I at the Oklahoma St. Patty's Day Race 2008.  Mommy ran the 8K and the girls ran the kid races.  Bella ran the entire kid's mile!  I was so proud of her.  Both girls loved having skirts "like mommy's".

It was so cute and we had a blast together.

Hi Christy and Cindy,

This was a beautiful training run day in the country.  I am Boston bound in a few weeks.  If we're blessed with warm weather, I'll be wearing this Running Skirt!

Womens Trail Half Marathon......All womens race in Virginia, VHTRC club.  What is cool is the men all come out to cheer on the women and take care of us at the race.  OH, and got a really great massage after the race at the finish line!

Wouldn't leave home without it!!! Makes me feel all girly when I am gettin down and dirty on the trail, whether it be training run, a 13.1, a 50K, or a 50 miler.  Heard a guy once say, "The first time ever I was passed by a girl in a SKIRT", I said that was me, hehehehe.  Everyone always asks about my skirts.  Love the pockets for my Sports beans, music, and key.  Lightweight and no chaffing is awesome.  Thanks Running Skirt Girls!

Tina (wearing chocqua)

I love, love, love running in your skirts.  I only joined the running world last year when I decided to run a ("a" - I thought I'd stop at one) marathon, but I already know that this is light-years better than shorts.  Here's a picture of me having too much fun at the Marine Corps Marathon last October and a second picture of me at the Los Angeles marathon last month, proving it wasn't just a fluke!

Krischelle (wearing black aqua & sunkissed pink)

Shamrock Marathon, VA Beach, March 2008

Comments about your runningskirt gear?  I loved my running skirt – it was extremely comfortable and the grass green color was perfect for the Shamrock theme. During the race, I even had a woman yell out to me “Yay running skirts!!”.

Lauren (wearing grass sky)

Hello, I had sent this in before, but I wanted to submit it for your "Skirts in Action" for January.  Here I am in your black/aqua skirt as I was running the Disney World Marathon - day 2 of the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge!  I wore your skirts for both races and I absolutely love them.

Thanks!

Leana (wearing black aqua)
